IN a week that the club learned that coach Kurt Haggerty was to step down, Recs stuttered to against bottom placed York Acorn as the team signed of his four year reign with a 42-22 victory

Recs were first on the score sheet as Tom Roughley scored his first of the season after using his bulk to crash over. Danny Lynch converted.

A trio of tries in 15 minutes gave the visitors a well deserved lead as Pilks looked to be seeing the season out.

A Ryan Liptrot try just before half-time reduced the deficit gave a score of 12-18 at the break as Pilks handed themselves a life line.

Recs responded to the coaches half-time talk and with just 3 minutes played of the half, impressive wingman Jake Hodgson was over for his 12th try of the season.

Jon Key then scored a wonder try as he stepped through the York defence before scorching beneath the posts to regain the lead.

York responded with a well worked try of their own, but it was clear that the visitors were running out of steam and by the time Hodgson crossed for his second, Recs were already looking comfortable.

Danny Lynch scored a try of his own before Hodgson had two ruled out for a knock on and forward pass respectively, leaving the final word to Josh Lynch who burrowed his way over from a yard out.

Recs will now begin their search for a new coach to take charge for next season.
