DISAPPOINTMENT for Crusaders last week when they faced Centurions in their last match of the season: again with a depleted team.
They lost the toss and were requested to field first with only six players present and without bowler Lorna who had been delayed.
With only seven players total, including former player Lynsey McHugh who guested, they struggled to cover the field. After facing 49 balls and losing 6 lives, Centurions had 6½ on the scoreboard and Crusaders struggled to see off the last three batters - they faced a further 25 balls and took their score to 12.
Top scorer was Vicky Myers with 4 followed by Carole Foster with 3½; Donna Jackson with 2; Karen Shawbinns with 1 and Kerri Towey, Alli Hagerty & Vicky Mousdale each with a ½: Crusaders were held to 2½.
Obliged to follow on, they fared marginally better increasing their score to 8. There were only three scorers - Lynsey with 5; Joanne Perry with 2½ and Clarice Mitchinson with a ½ .
