SAINTS boss Keiron Cunningham says his side is raring to put on a good display in front of the home fans in tonight’s crucial clash against Catalans.

Last week’s nailbiter at Warrington saw Saints extend their unbeaten run to six maintaining the ‘feelgood factor’ surrounding the club in recent weeks.

Tonight's opponents were the last team to lower Saints’ colours as they completed a double over Saints in Perpignan in June.

However, Cunningham is confident Saints will present a very different challenge for the French side this time round as Saints make their first home appearance in five weeks.

And a win would put Saints four points clear of the fifth-placed Dragons to give a real boost to their semi-final hopes.

“This week’s a big game and we’ve not had the measure of Catalans this year,” said the Saints coach.

“I’d like to think the side that Catalans are going to face this week is completely different to the side that they’ve seen on the last two showings.

“We’re at Langtree and it feels like an eternity since we’ve been there. I think the fans and ourselves are champing at the bit to come back and put a good showing on.

“I think defensively we’re a far better side than what we were and I think with the ball in hand we are proving ourselves a lot more so we’ll give them a good run for their money.

“We are on a bit of a crest of a wave at the minute but those waves can still crash down and it can quite easily go the other way.

“We’ve just got to keep working hard as a club and a group and hopefully we can fulfil some ambitions.”

Saints have enjoyed some impressive recent wins on the road and Cunningham hopes the team can help produce a good atmosphere at Langtree Park tonight.

“The fans have been immense in the past six or seven weeks. I think the fans have played a large part in everything we’ve done and it would be good to give the fans a really good home showing," he said.

“We’ve had some really tough away days and we’re fortunate enough to be playing a good Catalans side at Langtree and hopefully we can make it a good night for the fans.”

Saints have named an unchanged 19-man squad, with Jonny Lomax shaking off a leg injury sustained in the win against Warrington.
