THATTO Heath Crusaders Under 18s made it through to the National Cup Final with a comprehensive victory over Ince Rose Bridge by 60 points to 20.

Despite playing a team from the division above them and missing a number of key players, particularly in the forwards, the Heath were too good for their opposition in just about every facet of the game. The forwards laid the platform with excellent go forward and this paved the way for the back line to show their ball handling and execution.

The half time score line of 32 6 was just reward for some fine open attacking rugby that the visitors couldn't cope with as the Heath cut through almost at will.

There was a brief spell just after half time when Rose Bridge hit a purple patch and ran in three tries to give the the home side a scare, but normal service was resumed and the home side ran in another five tries to hammer home their superiority.

It was a superb all round team performance that was testimony to all the hard work that has been put in by players and coaches alike especially a team that has found game time limited this season due to postponements.

Try scorers on the day were: Rob Nielsen (4), Lewis Leyland, Joe Heaton, Connor Foster, Jack Granby, Danny Edwards, Danny Heslop and Lewis Hayes. Connor Foster slotted over 8 conversions out of 11 for good measure including a number from the touchline.

The final will be against Skirlaugh and is scheduled to be on Saturday 16th July with the venue yet to be arranged.
