THE second Youth Development League match of the season saw 11 of St Helens Sutton A.C.’s younger members travelling to Crewe where each one tackled multiple events. They achieved six personal bests (pbs) and a new club record.

George Asson ran the 100m. in 11.2secs. and the 200m. in 22.8secs.

Competing in the same events, Daniel Lamb ran a 11.5sec. 100m. a pb and got a second of 23.5secs. in the 200m., Daniel also competed in the long jump. Daniel Dobson got a pb in the 400m. 58.6sec. and a seasons best in the 100m.(13.3secs.), besides competing in the long jump.

In the 400m. Peter Davies ran 61.5secs and he threw the shot 8.30m.

Lochlain Fisher ran a 53.3secs. 400m.(pb.) and also did the long jump. Jacob Beesley putt the shot 8.71m. and threw the discus 30.82m.

Finally for the men's team, Jonathan Causer threw the discus 22.30m. and the shot 11.09m.

The 4x100m relay team consisted of Daniel, Jonathan, Lochlain and George.

Representing the ladies, Erin Makin ran 14.0secs for the 100m and 28.7secs. for the 200m. and competed in the long jump. Lauren Marshall ran 13.8secs for the 100m. as well as doing the long jump.

Alex Bottomley achieved a pb in the javelin with a throw of 25.27m and Rachel McGoldrick ran 5 min.08.7 secs. for the 1500m and 2 min.30.3 secs for the 800m.

Running in the Halewood Prostate Cancer 5km. road race V40 lady Julia Shuker ran a season’s best time of 22 min.36 secs.
