BOLD were beaten 36-18 by the other Miners from Leigh. After falling behind Andy Leyland finished well after good work from hooker Kelvin Walkden and then scrum half Gaz Mull breezed over after combining well with his half back partner Paul Martin. Both were converted by full back Ian Webster. This seemed to shock the home side into action and they reacted well by scoring four un answered tries.
The Leythers sealed it after the restart with two more. Bold weren't done and when Martin and Mull linked up again and the scrum half ghosted his way under the posts, Webster again added the extras.
Webster was Grundy's excavations man of the match award and young Declan Dyas made a good strong open age debut.
