SAINTS will host Widnes Vikings in the Karalius Cup on Sunday January 24 at 3pm.

The squad returned to pre-season training on Monday and were put through their paces by Keiron Cunningham and his coaching team.

It is expected that the Widnes game will be the second of the club's pre-season campaign with a clash against Dewsbury agreed as part of the Matt Haggarty sale.

The game will give new recruit Jack Owens an early chance to face his hometown club.

Widnes will have a new look to them having signed Chris Bridge, Corey Thompson and Setaimata Sa.

The Vikings are current holders of the trophy, which is named after the former Saints and Widnes captain Vince Karalius.

"Games against Widnes are always great matches," Saints captain Jon Wilkin said.

"This is a key part of our pre-season preparations and we are looking forward to the challenge."
