FOR Jordan Turner last year’s Grand Final triumph at Old Trafford gave him his first taste of major final success.

And, ahead of this Friday’s cup semi-final, the centre admits the chance of playing at the national stadium in a Challenge Cup decider is an enticing prospect.

However he knows Saints have a “massive hurdle” in their way in the shape of Leeds.

“Wembley is one of my dreams as it would have been for loads of kids growing up,” said Turner.

“The Grand Final was fantastic last year, but that’s gone now.

“I’m really looking forward to the semi final. A semi final is new territory for me and a few of the other players, but we’ve got the right mentality going into the game and we’re all looking forward to it.

“I think I’ve had quite a good year with my form, but obviously I’m never satisfied and I feel I can improve all parts of my game. But as any other player will tell you I just want to end up with silverware at the end of the year.”

And, despite the exciting prospect of being 80 minutes away from a cup final, Turner knows the side can’t look past Friday’s semi-final against a Leeds side that has dished out two thrashings to Saints already this year.

“We’ve got a massive hurdle to get over and we’ll have to turn up this time,” added Turner.

“We’re not really thinking about the past; we’re looking to do our own bit in the future. We’ll expect the ‘same old’ from Leeds, we haven’t turned up against them twice.

“In the two shots we’ve had at them this year they’ve been by far and away the better team, so we’ve got a lot of wrongs to right and we’re looking to do it.”
