PILKINGTON Recs continued their push for the automatic promotion places with a 42-16 win in Hull.

Despite losing experienced prop Jono Peers to injury on Friday night, Kurt Haggerty reshuffled his squad and the enforced move of Jamie Smith to prop proved to be a master stroke as he terrorised the Myton defence all afternoon.

Recs were 26-10 ahead by half time and, although the hosts scored first in the second half, their comeback was short-lived with Danny Filson adding a brace of long-range tries in a devastating five-minute spell.

Greg Smith also touched down twice while Brandon Lewis, on his debut, Ian Stanley – for the 17th time this year – and Ryan Hilliard also crossed for Pilks.

Seven goals from man-of-the-match Danny Lynch completed the job in National Conference League Division One.
