There was a strong turnout of St Helens Sutton A.C. athletes for the second Youth Development League match held at Warrington’s Victoria Park track with all team members playing their part on a windy day, the club finished first overall with 26 personal bests were as well as a new club record set by Jessica Leonard.

For the Under17s ladies, Olivia Harwood-Moss ran the 800m in 2 min.33.9 secs, and the 300m. (46.1secs.).

Emily Lowrie also ran the 800m in 2 min.48.5 secs. (pb).

Zoe Pye competed in the 100m. (13.7secs.) and the 200m (29.7secs).

Abbie Roberts got a pb in the 100m with 14.1secs. and ran a 29.9secs. 200m. Jessica Leonard ran a pb and set a new club record in the 300m with her time of 41.0secs. and also ran the 200m (26.2secs.).

Emily Smith competed in the 80mhurdles running 13.6secs. (pb) and had a 1.45m. high jump. Megan Lang got a pb in the 80mHurdles with a time of 14.6secs, and a pb in the triple jump with 9.84m.

Samantha Price ran the 1500m. in 5 min.23.8 secs. (pb). Alex Bottomley threw the javelin 25.06m and Laura Fairclough threw the hammer 26.02m, the shot 8.51m and the discus 15.99m. (pb). Hannah Seabrook triple jumped 8.54m. (pb), cleared 1.40m. in the high jump and long jumped 4.14m (pb).

The 4x100m relay of Megan Lang, Jessica Leonard, Abbie Roberts and Zoe Pye finished 2nd in 55.3secs.

The 4x300m relay saw Jessica Leonard, Abbie Roberts, Samantha Price and Zoe Pye finish 1st in 3 min.10.5 secs. (pb).

Representing the U20yrs. ladies, Rachel McGoldrick achieved a pb in the 800m with her time of 2 min.24.7 secs., ran the 3000m. (12 min.21 secs.) and ran 5 min.21.1 secs. in the 1500m.

Sister Maria ran the 800m in 2 min.30.0 secs, and got a pb of 65.9secs. in the 400m.. Maddie Williams achieved a pb of 68.6secs in the 400m. and ran 5 min.24.4 secs. for the 1500m. Demi Rigby, another competing for the first time, ran 14 min.24 secs. in the 3000m.

Emma Scott competed in the 200m to achieve a pb of 29.3secs and long jumped 4.77m (pb).

The 4x100m relay team of Hannah Seabrook, Emma Scott, Maria McGoldrick and Maddie Williams finished 3rd in 58.0secs and the ladies 4x400m relay of Rachel McGoldrick, Maddie Williams, Emma Scott and Maria McGoldrick won with a time of 4 min.32.7 secs..

The U17yrs men's team included Chris Lamb who ran a pb in the 100mhurdles of 16.4secs.(pb) also achieved a pb in the pole vault with 3.40m., and threw the javelin 44.85m. Daniel Lamb ran 24.4secs in the 200m, (pb), and jumped 10.40m. in the triple jump (pb).

Joseph Woods ran a 28.5secs. 200m. (pb).

The 4x100m relay, the team of Joseph Woods, Adam Woosey, Chris Lamb and Daniel Lamb finished first in 50.8secs. In the U20yrs men, Adam Woosey achieved 2 pb's, 2 min.04.1 secs. in the 800m. and 54.7secs. in the 400m.

Jonathan Causer got a pb in the 800m with a time of 2 min.09.9 secs, ran the 400m. in 56.2secs.(pb) and threw the shot 9.65m.

Jacob Beesley threw the shot 10.77m (pb), the discus 35.41m and long jumped 4.89m.(pb).

The 4x400m relay saw Jonathan Causer, Joseph Woods, Adam Woosey and Daniel Lamb finish 1st in 3 min.58.1 secs.

Elsewhere, Andy O'Connor took bronze in Northern Veterans AC championships at Leigh running 5 min.04.7 secs for 1500m and Gemma Connolly was in action at the Chester Half Marathon finishing 4th lady with a time of 1 hr.23.05 mins and was very pleased with this being only four weeks after her run in the Manchester marathon.
