RAINFORD Tennis Club player Cameron Ashley-Jones enjoyed a successful first appearance for Lancashire in the Aegon County Cup.
Ashley-Jones, from Eccleston, was chosen to represent Lancashire's 14 & Under Boys Team for the first team in the annual competition, which took place at Birchwood Tennis Centre in Warrington.
The 14 year old made an impressive debut and and won two out of his three matches as Lancashire overcame Northumberland and Cumbria before losing to eventual winners Warwickshire.
Phoebe Mitchell has also been chosen to represent Lancashire and will make her first appearance for the County in next month's 10 & Under Girls County Cup in Sheffield.
If you or your child would like to try tennis, Rainford Tennis Club are holding a free Open Day as part of the Great British Tennis Weekend on Sunday, May 17 from 12-3pm.
Free activities are available for children, adults and families and all equipment is provided.
