SEAN Long says devising a game plan to stop table toppers Leeds Rhinos is no mean feat.

He had just watched three of the league leaders’ matches before announcing: “We’ve got to expect the unexpected.”

Keiron Cunningham’s right-hand man is impressed by what he’s seen of Friday’s visitors - especially their new prop Adam Cuthbertson - to Langtree Park but said Saints are in confident mood after welcoming back Luke Walsh, Travis Burns and Jon Wilkin in the win at Huddersfield.

“Leeds are a quality side and they will come here with confidence too,” said Long. “We’ve got to match them up front and expect the unexpected because they play so much off the cuff, some really entertaining footy.”

He added: “Huddersfield are a tough side to beat on their own park and we’ve taken a lot of confidence from that. We’re at home, hopefully there’ll be a big crowd behind us and we’ll get to showcase our game.”

Saints are expected to make just one change, Josh Jones in the centres in place of Matty Dawson, who is awaiting the results of a scan to discover the extent of damage to his ankle.

Leeds have England centre Kallum Watkins back in the 19 after missing the 28-18 win at Salford through illness.

They are without Ryan Hall (hand), Tom Briscoe (shoulder), Kylie Leuluai (bicep) and Jamie Jones-Buchanan (hamstring) through injury.
