A small St Helens Sutton A.C. took part in the fourth, and last, Cheshire League meeting of the season at Woodbank Park, Stockport on a day which provided excellent conditions for the competitors.
For the Under 11years boys, Matthew Dodd ran the 75m. in a time of 14.4secs..and 600m. in which he achieved a persona best of 2 min.29.7 sec., in addition he long jumped 2.21m.
Dylan O'Brien ran 11.9 in his 75m. race and also ran a PB of 2 min.01.2 secs. in the 600m. plus another PB in the long jump of 3.57m.. Ben Toole threw the soft javelin 9.87m. (PB), long jumped 2.65m. (PB) and ran 2 min.06.9 secs.(PB) in the 600m..
Max Harrison also achieved two PBs, throwing the soft javelin 10.62m. and clearing 2.92m. in the long jump.
Elizabeth Greenall competed for the U11yrs. girls., jumping 3.19m in the long jump, running 12.6secs. in the 75m., achieved a PB of 12.60m. in the soft javelin and ran 2 min.06.0 secs. in her 600m. race. The club had a mixed relay team for the U11yr's. The team consisted of: Dylan, Ben, Max and Elizabeth, the team finishing 3rd overall.
The U13yrs. boys category saw Charlie Roberts competing in the javelin, throwing a PB of 11.90m., he got another PB in his 1500m race with a time of 5 min.24.6 secs., besides jumping a 3.50m. long jump. Nathan Harrison competed in the 100m. (15.6 secs.), threw a PB of 10.23m. in the javelin and long jumped 3.34m.. For the U15yrs. boys; Christopher Lamb competed in the 100m. (12.5secs.), threw the shot 10.59m. and cleared 1.63m. in the high jump. Caitlin Young represented the U15yrs. girls., competing in the 200m. (28.6secs.) and jumped 4.20m. in the long jump.
