NEWTON le Willows Angling Association matches have taken place, with Dave Boyle twice featuring in the top four.

He landed close to 24lbs of carp, tench and bream to win Round 8 of the Disabled & Over Sixties Members J&D Summer League, leaving him fourth in the series.

Sankey Canal Upper Pound, (24 pegs): 1st, Dave Boyle (Newton le Willows), peg 30, with carp, tench and bream to pole and caster for 23-11-0; 2nd, Graham Belton, (Warrington/ Cheshire Angling), peg 38, with bream and roach to pole and pellet for 15-12-0; 3rd, Eddie Cook,(Warrington) peg 10 with bream and tench to pole and pellet for 13-10-0; 4th, Jimmy Byrne, (Warrington), peg 28, with skimmers, rudd and roach to pole and caster for 10-15-0.
