PRESCOT and Odyssey CC continued their fine early season form on Saturday thanks to a four wicket win at Tarleton.

The home side reached 25 before Steven Holden bowled Nick Astley and then trapped Will Taylor.

Lawrence Mason had David Thompson caught by Peter Crookes at cover and Tarleton were struggling at 30/3.

Huyton and Higham pushed the score along to 45, but when Jeff Gore brilliantly stumped Huyton off Holden, the medium pacer began to run through the middle order and reduced Tarleton to 55/7.

Lawrence Mason removed the last three wickets in five balls to bowl Tarleton all out for 74 in 28 overs. Holden finished with 6/27 from his 14 overs and was brilliantly supported by Mason who grabbed 4/22 from 12.

In reply Prescot were reeling on 49/6, still 26 short of their victory target. Holden joined Vibhor Jain at the wicket and the pair began to slowly work their way towards the target, knowing they had plenty of time.

Eventually Jain hit the winning runs to take Prescot to their seventh successive league victory and to maintain their three point lead at the top of the Southport and District Premier Division.
