ST Helens Striders Anthony Jones completed Southport’s Sandgrounder 5K in 29:27.

On Thursday Chris Falls took part in the Bowden 5K finishing in a time of 20:21.

On a sunny Saturday nine Striders took to the hills and took part in the Lakeland Trails Kentmere 17k Challenge.

First Strider home and 2nd overall in the race was Gary Carney in a time of 1:25:35, followed by Gary Spriggs in 1:38:23, Simon Poole in 1:41:32, Paddy Lee in 1:44:35, John Murphy in 1:52:40, David Baxter in 2:00:41, Ruth Besford in 2:27:44, Anita Hall in 2:27:47 and Debbie Hill rounding it up in 2:43:52.

Striders also took part in a couple of free parkruns in the local area. At Pennington Flash parkrun Rachael Fishwick was first Strider home in a time of 20:38, followed by Joanne Keogh in 27:01, Andrea Hill Jones in 31:42 and Jennifer Lawrence in 31:50. At Delamere parkrun Rich Worsley came in at 22:29 followed by Lisa Worsley at 33:20 Sunday saw 14 Striders hitting the trails at Wigan Trail 10k. Results from this race were not available.

In Penwortham, Preston the Crazy Cow Trail 10k took place with Tony Padmore finishing in 46:45, followed by Louise Padmore in 59:40.
