WORLD middleweight title contender Martin Murray believes his change of promoter and having three fixed dates in Monaco has given him a fresh start in the ring.

The 31-year-old boxer is deep into preparations for the first of his trio of money spinning bouts in Monte Carlo.

Murray takes on Ukraine’s number one Max Bursak on June 21 at the famous Casino venue which once hosted middleweight king Marvin Hagler.

He knows a good performance can catch the eyes of the big fight promoters and match makers and give him a third chance at a crack at any of the world belts in the division.

After a frustrating 12-month period of effectively being frozen out since nearly beating Sergio Martinez in his own Buenos Aires backyard, Murray’s teaming up with South African promoters Golden Gloves has rekindled his enthusiasm for the sport.

Murray said: “I am enjoying boxing again, and I am really up for a tough fight now against Bursak.

“I am also looking to impress because the Casino is a prestigious venue and I understand the Monaco royal family are going to be there at ringside.

“It is a big occasion and big event over there and I have got to be the man front running it for Golden Gloves for the next three or so fights.

“I want to impress – for the supporters that are going to travel over there to watch me and for my team.

“I am loving boxing again. When you start out you are buzzing and want to climb the ladder as a professional and get in the big fights but it kind of went stale for me.

“This is the first time I have ever had a plan and solid dates to work towards.

“My new promoters are letting me know about everything that goes on – I feel appreciated and they are looking after me.

“It is an exciting time and it is a fresh start.”
