Saints bounced back from last week's defeat at Magic by smashing the Giants with seven well-taken tries.

In such a contrast to last week, Saints strongest pack started the game and got the team on the front foot straight away.

Early forward dominance, with Mose Masoe immense, allowed Jon Wilkin to power through a hole.

That created the platform for Gary Wheeler to zip in for his first.

And then hooker James Roby dashed through the middle - waiting a while before sending the supporting Lance Hohaia dashing in,

Skipper Paul Wellens crossed for the third after good work from Luke Walsh.

Although Giants hit back when Larne Patrick bounding on to a Danny Brough bullet pass close to the line, Saints posted a quick riposte through Matt Dawson to take a 22-6 into the interval.

The second half started with tit-for-tat scoring with Wilkin chasing Walsh’s shrewd kick to slide over, only for Giants wing Ben Blackmore to cash in on a clever restart from Brough.

Likewise powerhouse Mose Masoe’s close range effort was matched by Brett Ferres.

And Wheeler’s hack on try from a Huddersfield error at the scrum was immediately cancelled by Blackmore's second.

Luke Walsh capped a great day with the boot by adding a late drop to his six conversions.
