DAVE Chisnall is looking forward to a pivotal night in his debut Betway Premier League Darts season as he prepares to double up at The NIA in Birmingham on Thursday.

The World Grand Prix finalist sits four points adrift of the top four going into the final three league nights of the season.

Chisnall doubles up at The NIA this Thursday as he opens the night against Robert Thornton - the only player of the remaining eight stars who cannot reach the Play-Offs - before then taking on Taylor in a repeat of last year's World Grand Prix final.

The St Helens ace knows that he has to pick up points on the night to keep his top four hopes alive going into the final two weeks, but is in positive mood despite a defeat to reigning champion Michael van Gerwen last Thursday in Manchester.

"I think I'm playing well, so I've just got to tidy up a little bit on my doubles," he said. "When I needed to hit my doubles last week, I missed - but they were only on the wire.

"I've got four games left and that's eight points I can win, so that can still get me there.

“It depends on the other games but I'm looking forward to this week.

"I'm playing Robert Thornton and Phil Taylor, and hopefully I can do the double there.

“Phil's still the best player in the world - when he's 'on' he's something different - so it will be good to play him."
