THE old cliché a game of two halves summed up Brook’s visit to the unbeaten league leaders. Brook brilliant in the first half however the home blitzed the visitors with 30 unanswered points in the Second.
Brook took an early lead when Jordy Welsby and Stephen Parkinson combined to send Aaron Hewitt over for a well taken try the corner.
The home side responded with two tries.
Brook reduced the arrears when forward Sean Richardson collected Welsby’s pass and powered his way from 20 metres.
Brook hit a purple patch just after the mid way point of the half. Firstly Tommy Cunningham touched down in the corner. Minutes later Stephen Parkinson broke clear and his inside pass found Jordy Welsby who raced under the posts. Parkinson converted.
Despite a barrage of late pressure Brook defended brilliantly to go in with an eight point interval lead.
But the second half saw the game go away from Brook.
Stephen Parkinson was selected as both The Tisdalls Man of the Match and The NL Commercials Players Man of the Match with Darren Forshaw and Jordy Welsby in contention.
