Saints boss Nathan Brown said they had carried too many players with below par performances. He was disappointed with yet another knock on from the kick off and felt the poor yardage put the team's kicking game under the cosh.

Brown expects a number of changes for the Widnes game but said some off form players need to play.

2:32pm

Wane said losing three players with injury - Pettybourne, Thorniley and Bateman.

He added that he wanted Saints to beat Cas and they had spoken about coming here to take the unbeaten record off them.

2:30pm

Shaun Wane: we were not at our best but we showed a lot of desire. I was pleased with my players.

i have told Sean O'Loughlin he is an outstanding leader and player.

The skill of the players was amazing.

As a Wiganer coming here I can't tell you how good it feels to come here and do that.

2:15pm

Skipper Paul Wellens applauds every section of the Saints crowd before going down the tunnel. Some players will probably feel this defeat harder than others. Looks gutted and who can blame him.

2:12pm

Both teams doing the lap of honour now. Disappointing to lose to Wigan at a game of tiddly winks let alone on Good Friday. Hopefully no serious injuries from that will be the only consolation now.

Super try Tommy Makinson. Great break from Lomax, flew down wing and drew the man before putting Makinson in.

Shocking start for Saints  - stemmed from losing ball from kick off. Under pressure straight away. O'Loughlin forced his way over, Matty Smith kicked the goal.
