GREG Smith showed his class as a dominant performance earned Recs a superb victory over a side previously unbeaten this season.
Openings were scarce in the first half amid fierce defending and it took until the half hour mark before the deadlock was broken by Danny Halsall.
The big forward crossed following a mesmerising Smith break.
And just before half time, Smith gave Recs field position with a 40/20 kick, then threw an audacious long pass that paved the way for John Rees to send Danny Lynch in.
Lynch’s second conversion gave Recs a 12-0 half-time lead.
The red, amber and blacks then showed some real attacking flair, with Andrew Knapper exchanging passes with winger Danny Filson for a classy touch down.
Another dazzling Smith break and pass sent Filson in before tries by Halsall and Ian Stanley rounded off the scoring.
Danny Lynch was the Amdec Man of the Match with Smith taking the MJ Everett award.
