HUDDERSFIELD Giants forward Brett Ferres has been given a five-match ban after being found guilty to a dangerous throw on Jonny Lomax on Sunday.

Ferres was sent off for the tackle with 16 minutes remaining in a match Saints went on to win 16-17.

The wrestling-style move saw Lomax driven towards the ground, although many observers felt Ferres’s technique was reckless rather than malicious.

He pleaded guilty to a grade E offence at the Rugby Football League disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday and was fined £300.
