Recs returned to winning ways with a dominant performance against a previously unbeaten Stanley Rangers. After 2 defeats on the run, Kurt Haggertys responded to the coaches request for more in defence with a dominant display in monsoon like conditions.

It took just three minutes for Recs to register their first try of the afternoon after Andrew Knapper intercepted on his online, juggling with the ball before sprinting the length of the field to score, an uncharacteristc miss from the boot of Danny Lynch gave Recs a 4-0 lead.

The visitors hit back with a try of their own on 10 minutes, when a neat offload found the outstanding scrum-half how managed to shrug off the cover defence to score in the left corner and tie the scores.

With the weather doing its best to disrupt both teams, it was the Glassmen that overcame the torrential rain and hail with a fantastic display of forward domination. With Mark Briody and Ste Charlson powering up the middle, it was Briody who created the next score on 20 minutes with a surge through the Rangers defence before drawing the full back and passing to Josh Lynch who scored a try beneath posts that brother Danny converted.

Not to be outdone by his younger sibling, Danny Lynch was next on the scoreboard after Charlson, under the pressure of two defenders, came up with a one handed offload freeing Lynch to finish unopposed beside the posts.

Lynch converted his own try to give a half-time score of 16-8 Despite conditions under foot deteriorating, the teams started the second period with great intensity. With Recs looking to push the ball early on a mistake by winger Danny Filson allowed the Rangers scrum-half to pick up the loose ball and outpace the cover defence to score his second of the afternoon with only 2 minutes of the half played.

Recs pack, however, were in a determined mood and the visitors were struggling to make any ventures in to the Recs half and after forcing a number of errors in the visitors half it seemed to be only a matter of time before the next try came.

The anticipated score did not come as a well marshalled Ranger defence kept Recs at bay who after a number of chances were denied, settled for a Lynch penalty on the hour to open up a 10 point lead.

With Rangers losing players due to Recs ferocious defence the game had a stop-start feel to it and the killer score looked as though it would never come.

That was until Liam Bostock, who was operating at loose forward produced a moment of magic showing dazzling footwork to wrong foot three defenders on a 40 yard charge to the line before handing over to Danny Filson who scored a walkover try. Lynch's conversion hit the post leaving the final score of 22-8.
