SAINTS have been dealt a bitter injury blow losing scrum half Luke Walsh for between four and six weeks with a calf injury.

The club’s linchpin, who has pulled the strings in Saints winning start to the year, came off at half time during Friday’s win over Catalan. He was joined on the sidelines by Jordan Turner and Sia Soliola.

It comes at a bad time for the Saints with some big games in league and cup, and the gruelling Easter double header.

Brown said: "He's out for four to six week with Jordan missing around three to four with a hamstring. We have a number of other players carrying minor knocks who might also miss a week.

"Alex Walmsley will probably miss out whilst Sia Soliola is 50/50. Mark Percival will be fit to face Leeds. We obviously won't know about Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook (Grade C charge) until later this evening."

So it will be a much-changed Saints travelling to free-scoring Wakefield on Sunday.

"We have a lot of confidence in the squad and the younger players who played last season will get an opportunity," Brown continued.
