ST HELENS middleweight Martin Murray has signed a lucrative deal with South African promoters Golden Gloves – and is targeting a world title clash with Gennady Golovkin.

The 31-year-old from Fingerpost allowed his contract with Hattons expire at the end of February citing his disappointment at not getting bigger fights off the back of his terrific performances in drawing with Felix Sturm and controversially losing to Sergio Martinez in previous title bouts.

He has now been given big fight dates June, November and February 2015 – all in Monte Carlo.

His new promoters have vowed to move heaven and earth to ensure he gets a shot at WBA champion Golovkin in November.
