Brook let a 16-0 lead slip and were left clinging on claim a draw in their opening game of National Conference League Division Three.

Crosfields had the opportunity to take the two points back to Warrington however a straight forward conversion sailed wide of the posts and both teams settled for a point.

The home side got a perfect start when after only five minutes play was swept to the left were Skipper Greg Hale found the gap in the defence to dive over for the opening score.

Brook had started the game well and was finding gaps in the Crosfields defence however they failed to capitalise on breaks from Aaron Hewitt and Ian Honey and Centre Danny Woods was unable to hold onto a pass with the try line at his mercy.

The second try finally came just before the half hour mark in was Greg Hale again he broke clear from half way and turned Full Back Ash Cornelia inside out before leaving the defenders in his wake as he raced away to score under the posts with Stephen Parkinson converting.

Within minutes Brook was on the scoreboard again this time it was debutant Joe Bate who scored under the posts after Hale and Honey combined to create the space for him to go over Parkinson again converted.

Crosfields went over for a crucial try with half time approaching Forward Phil Brazendale forced his way over from close range with Jack Reid adding the conversion to reduce the arrears to 16-6 at half time.

Four minutes into the second period it was game on when Jack Reid dummied his way over the try line he also added the conversion to his score.

With both teams making too many errors it always seemed the next score would be vital to the final outcome.

Midway through the half Brook lost possession on the right hand side just inside the Crosfields half Winger Nathan Hamilton scooped on the loose ball and raced away to the try line veteran Sean Richardson chased back to reduce the angle of the conversion as Hamilton headed for the posts. The conversion was very kickable however Reids effort just sailed wide of the mark.

Despite both teams efforts the score remained deadlocked until the final whistle.

Greg Hale was selected as the Tisdalls Man of the Match for Brook with Joe Bate taking the NL Commercials Players Man of the Match.
