The draw for the third round of the 2014 Tetley’s Challenge Cup took place at the University of Gloucestershire’s Park Campus in Cheltenham this evening when the 23 Kingstone Press Championships clubs entered the competition for the first time.

The Championships clubs joined the 11 winners from the second round ties in draw conducted by Maxine Melling, the Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Gloucestershire, and Kevan Blackadder, the Editor of the Gloucestershire Echo.

The draw in full was as follows: Milford Marlins v Barrow Raiders, Rochdale Hornets v University of Gloucestershire All Golds, Keighley Cougars v Wath Brow Hornets, Dewsbury Rams v West Hull, Sheffield Eagles v East Leeds, British Army v Doncaster, Hull Dockers v Halifax, Batley Bulldogs v Kells, South Wales Scorpions v Hemel Stags, Normanton Knights v Workington Town, York City Knights v Whitehaven, Swinton Lions v Gateshead Thunder, Egremont Rangers v Oldham, Hunslet Hawks v Oxford, North Wales Crusaders v Pilkington Recs, Wigan St Patrick’s v Leigh Centurions. 

The third round ties will be played over the weekend of March 15 and 16.

Two Championships clubs, Featherstone Rovers and London Skolars were given a bye into the fourth round in a random draw held earlier in the day.
