THATTO Heath Crusaders will join Pilkington Recs in the second round of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup after victory in their delayed opening clash.

Both St Helens amateur teams will have Humberside opposition next.

Heath came back from 7-0 behind to win 16-13 at Shaw Cross Sharks on Saturday, handing them a trip to West Hull on February 22.

Adam Walsh bagged Crusaders’ late winner, while Mark Beech and Andy Lea also touched down. Shaun Quinn booted over the conversions to the first two crossovers.

The Humbersiders prevailed 22-16 at Oulton Raiders in another tie that had been held up a week by bad weather.

Pilks were already firmly in the hat for Thursday’s draw, having disposed of Aberdeen 46-4 on February 1.

Pilks’ reward is a home tie with Myton Warriors, also on February 22, when places will be at stake against professional opposition in the third round.

Second round draw: West Hull v Thatto Heath, Rochdale Mayfield v Wigan St Patricks, Great Britain Police v British Army, Hull Dockers v Siddal East, Leeds v Leeds Metropolitan University, Kells v Leigh Miners, Walney Central v Egremont Rangers, South West London Chargers v Milford Marlins, Normanton Knights v Royal Air Force, Pilkington Recs v Myton Warriors, Wath Brow Hornets v Elland.
