HAYDOCK’S first match of the season was a first round encounter against the Pennine League Premier League team.

The visitors started of brightly and the Haydock's defence had to be at its best.

The Yickers started to control the game and good passing saw Danny Gee break through and go 60 metres to score the first try.

Then Dean Dollin side-stepped his way over to score converted by Karl Dingsdale to lead 10-0.

Danny Gee got his second on 24 minutes and then Karl Dingsdale scored with one conversion from Karl Dingsdale to make it 20-0.

And just before half time a neat kick from Jordan Gibson saw Rob Sexton collect to run in for the try converted by Karl Dingsdale made it 26-0 to Haydock.

Good play between Dean Dollin and Danny Gee saw the latter go in for his third try, converted by Karl Dingsdale.

Daryl Rotherham went for a well worked try, converted by Karl Dingsdale.

But credit to the Irish who never gave up and went in for their only try on 58mins which was converted making the score 38–6.

The next 11 minutes saw Haydock run riot with four converted tries, with Jordan Gibson having a great game, and controlled the match,with his passing and kicking game.

Tries were scored by Dean Dollin, Gee’s fourth and fifth and Daryl Rotherham’s second.

The Lymewood Man of the Match went to Jordan Gibson, with good displays from Gee, Dollin and Scott Johnson.

The only bit of bad news was that young Adam Brown who was having impressive game broke his arm.
