STEPHEN Bunting is through to the final of the World Darts Championships after emphatically winning his semi final against Robbie Green 6-1.

Bunting raced into an early two set lead, scoring heavily and being clinical with his doubles.

But the big man from Wallasey, nicknamed Kong, got a grip in taking the third.

However, Green let missed doubles at the start of the fourth set to hand the chance for the Newtown-based thrower to regained his confidence to wrap up the third leg and the set with a superb Shanghai finish.

Green twice dislodged his own darts and visibly lost his temper, but Bunting kept his cool in the hot-house of the Lakeside to take the fifth set for a 4-1 lead.

After the break the 28-year-old Pride of St Helens Sportsperson of the Year took the first leg against the darts, held his throw and then broke Green again for a 5-1 lead.

It was sudden death now for Green and he took the first two legs of set seven, but Bunting fought back to take the third and keep the set alive and then level it.

BDO's number one safely wrapped up the set and match with a clinical finish.
