ST HELENS based darter Stephen Bunting has safely moved into round two of BDO's World Darts Championship at Lakeside.

The number one seed and favourite from the Newtown part of town eased past America's Jim Widmayer on Tuesday.

He now plays Dave Prins on Wednesday afternoon.

The quarter final will be on Thursday, with the semis at Frimley Green taking place on Saturday.

Bunting, who has won back to back Winmau Masters, will be hoping to put the icing on the cake by reaching and winning Sunday's final for the first time.

All the matches are televised by the BBC.
