An excellent week for Town saw them take maximum points from two home games, scoring 8 goals without conceding as they took over 7th spot in the NWCFL Premier Division.
Tuesday evening saw the visit of Squires Gate with Town looking to avenge the seasiders 3-0 win earlier in the season.
The game saw the strike partnership of Adam Storey and Andy Gillespie cause the visitors problems from the off.
Town’s early pressure eventually told on the half-hour mark when Shaun Judge’s pin-point cross was glanced home by Connor Sanderson. Gillespie was on the score sheet shortly afterwards when he rifled home to give Town a 2-0 interval lead.
Town weathered an early second half onslaught from Squires Gate before putting the result beyond doubt when a superb solo effort from Shaun Judge saw him jink his way through the Gate defence before slotting past ‘keeper Fletcher for 3-0.
Connor Sanderson completed his hat-trick in superb style; his second goal saw him chip Fletcher as he ran on to a through ball and even better was to come as he lobbed the stranded ‘keeper from the right hand edge of the box to make it 5-0 in stoppage time.
West Didsbury were the visitors on Saturday and in a close opening half Town had an early penalty appeal waved away when Adam Storey was hauled to the ground. Andy Gillespie opened the scoring just before the break when he broke clear before powering past Simpson from the edge of the penalty box.
Again, early second half pressure from the visitors was well marshalled by the Town defence and as the game opened up Storey forced two fine saves from Simpson before Gillespie picked up on a clearance before advancing and lobbing the visiting custodian to make it 2-0.
Gillespie completed a fine hat-trick when he head home after excellent work from Storey saw him beat a man before sending the ball into the six yard box from the right.
