James Roby is 'classy and steady and having him back is a massive bonus for Saints'
SAINTS half back Lance Hohaia says that getting James Roby back for the business end of the season is a massive bonus.
The Kiwi World Cup winner believes the return of the England number nine has benefited the team – and Hohaia’s own game this past few weeks.
He was speaking ahead of Saints’ crunch game against the champions Leeds at Headingley tonight.
Hohaia said: “It helps that combinations are pretty good at the moment. Jon and I are working well in the halves and getting Robes back is a massive bonus and Jonny is always dangerous at the back.
“If we can give Jonny more opportunities to do his thing then that is good, but having those guys playing together regularly has helped the team.”
Roby was in fine form at the weekend, with his smart calls on the short side opening up the Rovers defence.
It showed clearly what Saints have been missing this year with his two lengthy spells with foot injuries.
Hohaia added: “Robes works had on his game and is one of a kind in what he can do.
“I think he is pretty classy in his play and has a calm steadiness about him that all top players have. “He has definitely developed in the time I have been here, especially his kicking game and his decision making.
“He has shown how important he is to this team when we did not have him there for such a long period. To have him back is a real boost – he helps my game and the other boys as well.”
