St Helens and District Football Combination

The St Helens Combination started its new League season on Saturday 24th August.
On Tuesday 27th the first of the night games were played with the following results, In the Premier Division, Parr Cons and Newstreet shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw, Sankey Vale and Bold also shared the spoils with a 3-3 draw. Penlake overcome Sutton Heath 1-4 away from home whilst West Park had a good 2-1 win against Bowling Green.
In the R&G Trophies Division One Brown Edge had a tight 1-2 away win at Sumner Street, Eccleston and Prescot Reserves had a 2-2 draw, Clock Face Miners had a 3-5 away win whilst Newstreet Reserves and Penlake Res had home wins to pick up the points.
In Division Two Sutton Junction Reserves beat local neighbours Boilermakers 4-1, Waterside and Mossbank shared the points with a 3-3 draw, Sidac Social had a solid 3-0 home win whilst Prescot Sun A hit Old Congs for six without reply.
31st August In the Premier Division there was some high scoring games with Prescot Sun hiting 8 without reply against Bold, Bowling Green and Parr Cons scored 13 between with with a 9-4 home win for Bowling Green. St Helens Town had a 2-5 away win Sutton Heath had a 1-2 away win against newboys Sankey Vale and Newstreet had a 2-4 away win at Penlake.
In the R&G Trophies Division One, Brown Edge had another 2-1 win, Newstreet put six past Carborundum (3-6); Wheaty enjoyed a 0-2 away win, Mere enjoyed a 3-0 home win and Penlake had a 0-4 away win.
In Division Two Old Congs had a 2-4 away win, Waterside and Suttun Junction Reserves have a point each with a 1-1 draw and Mossbank went goal crazt at Bishop Road putting nine (1-9 )past Rockware.
