James Roby out for a month to ten weeks

SAINTS and England hooker James Roby will be sidelined for at least a month after sustaining an ankle injury during Friday night’s win over Wakefield.

The dynamic number nine was set to see another specialist tomorrow (Tuesday) but coach Nathan Brown said it could be anything up to ten weeks.

It could mean that Saints may have to move Lance Hohaia back to hooker.

Brown said: “James is definitely going to be out for an extended period.

“We don’t know how long at the moment and he is seeing another specialist tomorrow.

“He is definitely going to be out for at least a month and maybe ten weeks – it depends on the outcome of what the specialist says.

“It is not something we would have liked to have happened, but it is part of the game.

“We just move on and someone else will move into the position and get an opportunity to do well for the team.

“We don’t want to break our halves up, but we have to look at our best options. We had a light training session today and we will see how they go on Wednesday.

“Ideally we would not want to have to move Lance, but maybe that is the best solution this time.”
