Blackbrook are through to the final of the north west counties play offs after beating table topping Irlam Hornets at the Salford City Reds complex.
The home side took a early lead when their prop off loaded on the line for hooker Smith to dive over for a unconverted try 25 minutes later Brooks work ethic paid off when wingman Mark Seary squeezed in at the cornerwith scum half Jordan Welsby adding the touchline convertion.But it it was Hornets who closed the first half with a two point advantage when winger Smith crossed wide out.
Brook got off to a perfect start to the second half when hooker Jimmy Brown dummied his way over from acting half with Welsby adding the extras.it was a combination of half backs Welsby and Rawsthorne that paved the way for centre Jack Parker to score close to the posts,Welsby converted.With the clock ticking down a place in the final was secured when Lee Brown went over for a well taken unconverted try.
The Unite Union man of the match went Jamie McCabe with Jordan Welsby, Craig Dubois,and Lee Johnson all in good form.
The final will be played at the Rylands club Saturday 23rd 2-30 kick off.
