Jonny Lomax breaks the line Jonny Lomax breaks the line

SAINTS' new full back sensation Jonny Lomax gave the home fans a taste of his skills and attributes in grabbing a hat-trick against Wakefield.

The 23-year-old sparked a new style Saints attack which the Langtree Park crowd warmed to - bringing a roar of approval that has been missing for too long.

Lomax, who has played the bulk of the last two years at scrum half, seems to relish the freedom of having the weighty organisational brief removed from his shoulders.

With Jon Wilkin providing the steady hand at seven, Lomax is now able to chime into the line a little further away from the ruck to show a skillset and pace that have been shackled.

No wonder he is playing the game with a smile on his face.

And to put the icing on the cake, he chipped over eight goals from nine to answer Saints' early goalkicking crisis.
