Brook pulled off as dramatic late comeback to take the game into the Golden Point period and a Kyle Smith try 14 minutes into the extra time sent his side into The 3rd Round of The Tetley’s Challenge Cup.
It was Conference Division One side Oulton from Leeds that made all the early running a break down the left hand side almost brought at try in the opening minute it took a superb last ditch tackle from Tommy Cunningham to keep the visitors out.
Oulton were soon attacking the Brook try line once again and this time a chip into the corner was collected by Wingman Dave Charles who went over for an unconverted try in the corner.
Fifteen minutes into the game the visitors doubled their lead this time Danny Stanley who was a threat all Afternoon came on an unstoppable run to score his sides second try however the same player hadn’t brought his kicking boots as he failed to convert.
Just before the half hour mark after a period of sustained pressure from the visitors it was that man Stanley again who crossed for their third unconverted try as the visitors built up a 12-0 lead.
The final ten minutes of the half finally brought about some smart attacking from Brook Prop Ste Marsh was felled by a head tackle as he appeared to be about cross the try line the tackle could easily brought about a penalty try and a red card however the visitors survived both.
Just before the interval Sean Forber put Kyle Smith through a gap for what appeared to be Brooks opener only for the try to contentiously ruled by the Linesman for a forward pass.
Brook suffered a double blow with both Lee Marsh and Chris Springford picking up injuries late in the half that prevented their re-appearance after the interval.
Five minutes into the second period Sean Richardson forced his way over from close range to get Brook onto the scoreboard with Stephen Parkinson converting.
Mid way through the half Oulton scored their Fourth and crucially Fourth unconverted try of the game when Centre Andy Eastham crossed again from a kick into the corner.
Brook sensed their visitors were beginning to tire and stepped up a gear as the game entered the Final Fifteen minutes.
Ian Honey looked likely to score before he was felled with another high tackle however minutes later Sean Forbers kick into space was superbly collected by Stephen Parkinson who planted the ball down in the corner.
Brook were within a converted try of levelling the game and piled the pressure on the visitors try line and they got their reward when Jon Glover forced his way over the line with a typical barnstorming run close to the line Parkinson added the conversion to send the game into The Golden Point period.
Both sides had worked drop goal positions during a tense first Ten Minutes however they all missed the target.
Mid way through the second period Brook forced the error as Oulton tried to clear their line following another drop goal attempt.
Brook took play towards the posts but with the visitors defence lining up to stifle another drop goal attempt the ball was switched to the left were Kyle Smith came on a an angled run to score the match winning try.
Hard working prop Ste Marsh was selected as The Tisdalls Man of the Match with Greg Hale taking the AB Sundecks Players Man of the Match award.
