WEST Park stalwarts are this week mourning the passing at the tragically early age of 54 a most valued Club member and prolific try scorer Mike Allen.

Mike made his 1st XV debut in 1976 at the age of 17 and swiftly made the right wing position his own breaking all club records in an outstanding career spanning 19 seasons.

He played his last game in 1995 but kept up his connection with the club after hanging up his boots, as a club sponsor in the late 90s and an under 15s team coach in 2010.

The family name continues in rugby via Mike's son Ethan a fine player himself and whose career is being developed under the auspices of Sale Shark's Academy.

The funeral will take place on Friday, January 25 at noon in Prescot Parish Church, and sincere sympathy is expressed by all who knew Mike to Ethan, Mike’s family and friends.
