FORMER Saints skipper Paul Sculthorpe is one of eight former rugby league legends who will swap the pitch for the boxing ring when they compete for the title of ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ on Wednesday 27 February at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.

Recently awarded the MBE Paul ‘The Saint’ Sculthorpe will join Great Britain international and Leeds Keith ‘The Chief'’ Senior, boxing regular and former Hull Captain Lee ‘Raging Bull’ Radford and Wigan ‘Team of the Decade’ player Mick ‘Butch’ Cassidy fight it out for the grand prize of £10,000.

The fighters will be drawn at random in a Prizefighter concept and will face three matches to win the money and be crowned ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ – the hardest in rugby league.

The evening will be raising money for Joining Jack, a charity dedicated to funding research and development for Duchenne Muscular Disorder (DMD).

Rugby League Fight Champion is being co-organised by Rugger in the Ring and Saints legend Sean Long.

Long recently fought in a Rugger in the Ring event in November 2012 in an explosive match against Munster giant Alan Quinlan.

Radford was also part of the November line-up where he took on Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott. McDermott won the fight and claimed the WCB Championship belt.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and there are various pricing options available.
