WEATHER permitting Wakefield should give Saints a thorough work-out on Sunday in Jon Wilkin’s testimonial game.
Saints boss Nathan Brown believes the Wildcats, who finished last year strongly to qualify for the play-offs, will be even better this term.
Brown said: “Wakefield really came on in the second half of the year and have improved their squad.
“They played some really good footy at the second half of the year – I can only see them improving.
“Justin Poore will be a really good signing for them – I coached Justin for a lot of years at St George. After a knee injury at Parramatta he has got his game back last year and he will improve the team a lot.
“Danny Kirmond is a player that keeps improving and the captaincy will agree with him a bit.”
