DESPITE this being Brook's winter league side's second consecutive home defeat they turned in a encouraging performance against the Mancunian league leaders.
It only took the league leaders three minutes to register their first points with a coverted try as Brook were slow to find their feet.
But after 25 minutes thay looked to have equalised when loose forward Chris Springford plunged over only for his effort to be ruled double movement.
The decision seemed to motivate the Hornets as they added a futher two converted tries to give them a 18 nil half time advantage.
Irlam started the second as they did the first with a quick converted try, this time Brook were fast to reply when wingman Dan Parkes crashed in at the corner with stand off Ian Webster adding the touchline conversion from this point it was Brook who controlled the game, and were rewarded again when winger Ste Parkinson and Webster combined for the later to score with Springford adding the goal.
The with ten minutes remaining Brook stuck again when half back Lee Johnson stepped his way underthe posts,Springford goaled.
As the clock ticked down it was the Mancunians that were releaved to hear the final whistle.
M O M went to Ian Webster with secondrower Jack Parker in top form along with Jamie McCabe, Arron Hewitt and Jimmy Brow.
