Haresfinch 56 Leigh Miners 20

FINCH overturned the odds to defeat second placed Leigh Miners with an impressive performance.

They made a dream start when Richard Twist fed Josh Ainsworth to send the supporting Chris Simm over for the first try, with Kev Parylo converting. An inside pass from Shaun Hudson set Frankie Barkley up for his first try of the season. Josh Ainsworth was the provider, when Barry Stockman stormed through for his first try of the season with Parylo adding the extras.

And then Shaun Husdon sent Josh Ainsworth cruising through for a try and another Parylo conversion, followed by a stunning try from prop Lee Parry when he twisted and turned to force his way over.

Finch were on the attack again when the miners intercepted a wayward pass to score a converted try. But finch scored again to lead 30-6 at the break when the dynamic Ryan McPaul sent winger Danny Fletcher scorching in for a try wide out.

Straight after the break Frankie Barkley crashed over from close in for his second try and this was followed by a powerful John Arnold try both converted by Parylo.

This was now turning into a rout but a bad leg injury to influential hooker Chris Simm seemed to change the game and the miners responded with two tries.

Shaun Hudson scored wide out for Finch and the miners replied with a converted try. Richard Twist put Shaun Hudson in for his second try and a Parylo conversion and then Josh Ainsworth rounded off a fantastic afternoon for finch with his second try.

The Haresfinch man of the match with a superb performance was Ryan McPaul well supported by Frankie Barkley and Chris Simm.
