BROOK’S winter league side ran out comfortable winners in the end but were made to fight all the way.
Rylands centre Ansell crossed with ease for a unconverted try after five minutes and could well have increased their lead for Brook’s resolute defence.
Brook took the lead when teenage prop Jay Melling laid the platform for hooker Jimmy Brown to scoot over for a try converted by stand-off Jorden Welsby.
The second half saw Brook take control of the game with Brown’s second, one from second rower Craig Holcroft and a 50 metre solo effort from centre Kieren Edwards.
Welsby converted the goal points. Man of the match was Kieren Edwards, supported by Jay Melling, Jimmy Brown, Arron Hewitt and Craig Holcroft.
