The St Helens Combination got back to a full fixture programme at the weekend after some wet conditions over the last few weeks; pride of place this weekend was the Hattons Solicitors Sponsored Hospital Cup.
Defending champions Bowling Green lost 2-0 to Premier League front runners Diamonds 2-0, Prescot Sun Inn thumped Knowsley Souith Res 0-9 at Lord Derbies. Parr Cons hit 12 past Sidac Social whilst Carborundum just pipped Legion 2-1; Mere had a good away win against West Park 1-4 with Sutton Manor beating Prescot Sun Reserves 4-2 at home.
Clock Face Miners enjoyed a 6-3 win over local rivals Sutton Junction; Lions Grove had the win of the day by beating Premier Division side York 1-0. Wheaty just edged out Moss Bank 1-2; St Helens Town Res beat Old Congs 3-0. Sumner Street just beat Rockware 5-3 whilst Rainford North End hung on for a 3-1 home win.
In the Liverpool County Junior Cup; Newstreet Thumped Penlake to the tune of 6-0 In the sole League game; Clock Face Miners Res enjoyed a 2-4 away win at Sutton Junction Reserves to give the club a double win against their local rivals.
