PRIMARY school pupils have the chance to win £250 for their school by designing art work for a jute shopping bag to celebrate the launch of a Click & Collect groceries service at the town’s Tesco Extra store.

Tesco has opened the new Click & Collect service in St Helens to help busy customers who want their grocery shopping picked and packed but don’t have time to wait at home for delivery.

The new service, which is run by the tesco.com team, means local shoppers can pick up their groceries from a special Click & Collect desk in the Tesco Extra store St Helens.

Schoolchildren have the chance to win £250 for their school in the competition and have to create a fun and colourful design to celebrate the Click & Collect groceries service.

“We believe this will be popular with busy mums who have the school run and children’s activities to manage”, said Ian Crook, tesco.com marketing director.

“It offers a convenient solution to parents wanting to avoid the challenge of shopping in a busy store with children in tow but can’t afford the time to stay in for the shopping to arrive at their door.

“We also expect it to help young professionals wanting the convenience of a pre-picked and packed shop but cannot commit to waiting at home for delivery.”

Customers visit the collection point in store to show staff their shopping reference details. Staff bring out their shopping, take it to their car and the shopping is then packed into the boot.

Schoolchildren can send their artwork for a special jute shopping bag to help promote the new Click & Collect service to Freedman Brown Communications, Wigan Investment Centre, Waterside Drive.
