RAINFORD High School has continued the rebranding of the newly-built school with the unveiling of a new uniform badge.
In a letter sent out to all parents at the end of last term, principal Ian Young said the new crest reflects the school ethos and has drawn inspiration from “tradition and heraldry”.
The shield-shaped logo now features a wheatsheaf, a book, a letter ‘R’ and a fleur-de-lis.
The letter details the reasons behind each element of the logo, stating the village symbol is the wheatsheaf and ‘R’ is for Rainford High.
While the book represents “learning and knowledge”, the fleur-de-lis is said to represent “togetherness and love” and “reflects the Everyone Matters element of the school ethos’.
The new crest was designed after ideas were taken from students and replaces the ‘puzzle piece’ logo which incorporated the colours of each school house.
The logo will be used on all official branding and correspondence from the school, and will be phased in over the next three years on uniform.
