THINGS are hotting up for the eagerly anticipated Rainford Summer Festival.

Talented youngsters at Rainford High have been auditioning for the event, which takes place on Saturday, July 13, from 11am to 5pm.

The village celebration, which will be hosted on the school site, will feature traditional fairground attractions, an artisan market, local food court and school Summer Pops-style performances.

Working closely with Rainford Parish Council, organisers say the event is designed to showcase the college’s new facilities and students, as well as forming a major celebration for the whole village.

Rainford High principal Ian Young said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received.

“Well done to all the students who battled nerves and performed at our Summer Festival Auditions. Thanks also to our panel who included representatives from Wish FM and The Junction Music Venue.”

Beth McFadden, of Rainford Music Department added: “Thank you to all who attended the Festival Auditions, it was fantastic to see so many of our gifted students perform. Well done!”

Paul Draper of The Junction said: “There’s so much talent, the Festival is sure to be a great day!”

If you would like to get involved with the Rainford Summer Festival, limited stalls and exhibition opportunities are still available.
