John Gerrard took this striking image of birds scrapping in the back garden of his home in Laffak.

He wrote: “I took this photograph of a bird fight in my back garden. It shows a female greenfinch attacking a blue tit.

“With one blow to the chin the greenfinch knocked it off its perch while a great tit watched on.”
